Detta hamnar under “Medeltid”, inte för att det är medeltid utan för att visa hur den “ursprungliga” mässhaken (se förra posten) under århundradenas lopp förvanskades till ett stelt pansar.
Under 1700- och 1800-talen var mässhakarna svarta eller röda. Smala, stela och försedda med silver- eller guldbroderier. Alborna var försedda med kragar med spets – Gustav Adolfs-kragar – och de var oftast inte så långa att de gick ner till marken. Det borde synts ett par svarta byxben under alban! Ärmarna var vida. Stola användes inte.
This post is under “Medieval”, not for it is medieval but to show how the “original” chausable (see the former post) during the centuries is distorted to a stiff armour.
During the 1800th and 1900th centuries the chausables were black or red. Narrow, stiff and embroidered with silver or gold. The albs had collars with lace and they often not reached to the ground. There ougth to be seen a pair of black trouser-legs under the alb! The sleeves were wide. The stole was not used.
